Epoxy Coal Tar
Two-component coal tar modified epoxy-based paint. It provides perfect adhesion on all types of surfaces as well as concrete surfaces, excellent defense against corrosion and chemicals, and can be used as a topcoat for steel and concrete surfaces to be buried in the ground.
Product Information
FEATURES
- High resistance against corrosion
- Excellent moisture resistance
- High protection against salt water and chemicals
SURFACES TO APPLY
Used on all types of concrete and steel surfaces that remain permanently underground, such as paint lines, fuel tanks and tank base concretes, manholes, foundation piles. Used on all types of concrete and steel structures that remain permanently underwater, such as scaffolding pipe piles, spillways, dam and regulator gates, pontoons and barges, underwater sections of marine vessels, bilge and ballast tanks. It is also used on the inner surfaces of all kinds of pipes conveying chemical wastewater and seawater in ports and shipyards.
APPLICATION METHOD
Add the 2nd component into the 1st component and mix with a low-speed mixer. Continue until the mixture becomes homogeneous (approximately 2-3 minutes). After mixing, the product should be rested for about 10 minutes. The mixture must be used within approximately 5 hours after mixing (at room temperature). The prepared mixture is applied to the surface, which has previously undergone necessary scraping, sandblasting, washing, solvent bath, roughening, and cleaning processes, with a brush, roller, or airless spray. If the product will be applied with a brush or roller, it should be thinned with 5-10% epoxy thinner. Application should be avoided when ambient temperature is +10°C or below. Relative humidity should be max. 75% and surface temperature minimum +5°C. Drying time: At 20°C room temperature, surface drying occurs after approximately 5 hours. Initial hardening and recoat time is 24 hours. This time should be waited before recoating. Final curing of the product occurs after 7 days and the product should not be exposed to any chemical effects during the 7-day final curing period.
